From 1 October 2026, Visa, Mastercard, American Express and EFTPOS may introduce 'no surcharge' rules. If a card network adopts these rules, your pharmacy will no longer be permitted to apply a surcharge when customers pay with that network's prepaid, debit or credit cards.
What you need to do:
To prepare for these changes, we recommend reviewing any card surcharges currently configured in Minfos. If required, you can remove or update these settings before the changes take effect.
Minfos will not automatically turn off any card surcharges your pharmacy has set up — it's up to you to review and update them.
