The Pharmacist Check screen enables pharmacists to perform the final verification process before supplying prescriptions to a patient. It assists with ensuring the correct medication is supplied to the correct patient.
This screen allows Pharmacists to:
- View all the items dispensed to the patient on that day
- View the details of the selected prescription
- View the electronic copy of an ePrescription and any associated annotations
- Edit a prescription
- Edit and update customer profiles and notes
- View the customers full history
- View Drug Interactions
- View and record Clinical Interactions
- View and fix PBS Rejections
- The drug scan check process is also performed from this screen.
Overview of the Pharmacist Check screen
You can open the Pharmacist Check screen from the:
- Dispense Form; click the Rx Check F11 button. The Pharmacist Check screen is displayed. To populate the Pharmacist Check screen with a patient’s prescription information, scan the barcode on the dispense label.
- Script Options window; scan a dispense label barcode.
The Pharmacist Check screen is displayed listing all the prescriptions dispensed to the patient on the same day as the scanned label was dispensed. This script is highlighted in the list.
|a||Barcode||Scan the barcode on the dispense label to populate the Pharmacist Check screen. Use the same field to scan the product barcode after scanning the dispense label to scan check the prescription.|
|b||Patient details||Details of the patient, including the first line of free form notes and the Scripts on File indicator, if applicable.|
|c||Patient Type||Patient Type, including card number.|
|d||Total||Number of prescriptions dispensed to the patient on that day.|
|e||Scan check status||Icons display the scan check status of the prescription.|
|f||Drug interaction icon||An indicator will display if there is a drug interaction recorded against the script.|
|g||eScript icon||Identifies ePrescriptions.|
|h||Err icon||For a rejected script, the claim rejection icon ‘Err’ displays in front of the corresponding script helping you to easily identify an error that needs to be fixed.|
|i||Drug/Product||Displays a list of all items dispensed to the patient that same day.|
|j||Qty||Quantity dispensed to the patient.|
|k||Rpts||Number of repeats for the prescription.|
|l||Disp||Number of times the script has been supplied.|
|m||Last Disp||Displays the number of days since the medication was last dispensed.|
|n||Times||Number of times the item has been dispensed to the patient in the past two years.|
|o||Directions||Directions are populated in short form using sigs.|
|p||Prescriber||Prescriber code of the prescriber.|
|q||Rx Date||Script date.|
|r||Price||The price the customer is being charged.|
|s||Copy of eScript*|
When an eScript is selected from the list a copy of the original eScript will download and display. If the eScript was dispensed from a repeat, the Repeat Authorisation form will also display. The eScript also has a watermark ‘Dispensed’ indicating the eScript has been dispensed.This information should be used to verify the prescription.

|v||Comments||States if the drug is a new drug for the patient and/or there are noted drug interactions for the selected product.|

|Click Edit Customer to view/edit the customer’s profile.|

|If a script displays (the drug interaction icon), highlight the prescription and click Drug Interactions to view the details.|

|Click PBS Rejections to open the List of Rejected/Pending Scripts window. If the script displays an ‘err’ icon, an error has been returned from PBS Online.|
The ePad option, also available from the Dispense Form and the Script Options window, is available from the Pharmacist Check screen allowing you to quickly add items to a new or existing ePad order without having to navigate out of the screen.

* For eScripts only, if the prescription was dispensed from a paper prescription this information will not display.
Navigation of the Pharmacist Check screen
By default, the scanned product will be selected. Use the arrow keys to move through the list of items. As a new item is selected, the screen will update to display the associated details of that script. The mouse can also be used to select the item you want to view.
When the selected script is an eScript, the Copy of the Original eScript will display. When the eScript was dispensed from a repeat, two tabs are displayed above the copy of the eScript:
- Copy Repeat Authorisation which is displayed by default.
- The Copy of Original eScript.
To view the Copy of Original eScript manually select the tab or use Ctrl+Tab or the left and right arrow keys when the eScript is in focus.
Click Close or press Esc to exit the Pharmacist Check screen.
