You can add a clinical intervention record from the:

  • Script Options window, to attach the clinical intervention record to an existing prescription for the selected customer
  • Clinical Interventions Maintenance window, if the intervention does not relate to an existing prescription.

Add a clinical intervention record from the Script Options window

1. From the Dispense window - when a script has been dispensed and the Script Optionwindow is displayed.
or

Navigate to the Script Options window by selecting the required patient in the Dispense form and click on Special.

         

2. Click the Clinical Intervention menu item, and then click the Okay button.

The Clinical Intervention Recording window is displayed.


3. When you open the Clinical Intervention Recording window from the Script Options window, the customer, drug, pharmacist, doctor fields are populated from the selected prescription.

4. In the Category combo box, select the one category that best describes the nature of the clinical intervention. The available options are:

  • Drug selection
  • Over or Underdose
  • Compliance
  • Undertreated
  • Monitoring
  • Education or Information
  • Not Classifiable
  • Toxicity or adverse reaction

5. In the Classification dropdown list, select the one classification within the selected category that best describes the nature of the clinical intervention.

6. In the Notes field, enter any additional information that you think should be included in the clinical intervention record.

7. In the Time Spent field, enter the total number of minutes that have been spent on clinical interventions regarding the selected drug for the selected customer.

8. In the Select up to 4 Recommendations list, select between one and four options from the list that best describe the recommendations made to the customer during the clinical intervention. Click an option in this list to select it. To de-select an option, click it again.

Note: If you want to clear the details you have entered in the Category, Classification, and Recommendations controls, click the Reset button.

9. Click the Save button to save the details you have entered.

The Save Clinical Intervention? prompt is displayed.

10. Enter your initials in the field and click the OK button to save the clinical intervention and return to the Clinical Intervention Recording window.

11. Alternatively, click the Cancel button to return to the Clinical Intervention Recording window without saving.

12. When you have finished editing the clinical intervention and have saved your changes, click the OK button to close the Clinical Intervention Recording screen. Alternatively, click the Cancel button to abandon your changes.

13. If you clicked the Save Intervention button, then, after you save the clinical intervention, a summary of the clinical intervention is displayed in the Summary table at the bottom of the Clinical Intervention Recording window. This table displays all of the selected customer’s clinical intervention records for the selected drug.

 

Add a clinical intervention record from the Clinical Interventions Maintenance window

1. From Dispense Pro, click the Clinical Interventions icon.

The Clinical Interventions Maintenance window is displayed.

2. On the Clinical Interventions Maintenance window, click the Add button.

The Clinical Intervention Recording window is displayed.

3. In the Customer field enter the surname of the customer for whom you want to record a clinical intervention, and then press [TAB].

4. The Customer Search window is displayed. Select the required customer.
The name of the selected customer is displayed to the right of the Customer field.

5. In the Drug field, enter part of the name of the drug, and then press [TAB].

6. The Product Search window is then displayed. Select the required drug.

The name of the selected drug is then displayed to the right of the Drug field.

7. In the Pharmacist field, enter the initials of the pharmacist who performed the intervention.

The name of the selected pharmacist is then displayed to the right of the Pharmacist field.

8. In the Dr. field, enter the code of the doctor who first prescribed the selected drug to the selected customer. Alternatively, enter part of the name of the doctor, and then press [TAB].

9. The Doctor Search window is then displayed. Select the required doctor.

The name of the selected doctor is then displayed to the right of the Dr. field.

10. In the Category combo box, select the one category that best describes the nature of the clinical intervention. The available options are:

  • Drug selection
  • Over or Underdose
  • Compliance
  • Undertreated
  • Monitoring
  • Education or Information
  • Not Classifiable
  • Toxicity or adverse reaction

 11. In the Classification dropdown list, select the one classification within the selected category that best describes the nature of the clinical intervention.

12. In the Notes field, enter any additional information that you think should be included in the clinical intervention record.

13. In the Time Spent field, enter the total number of minutes that have been spent on clinical interventions regarding the selected drug for the selected customer.

14. In the Select up to 4 Recommendations list, select between one and four options from the list that best describe the recommendations made to the customer during the clinical intervention. Click an option in this list to select it. To de-select an option, click it again.

Note: If you want to clear the details you have entered in the Category, Classification, and Recommendations controls, click the Reset button.

15. Click the Save button to save the details you have entered.

The Save Clinical Intervention? prompt is displayed.

16. Enter your initials in the field and click the OK button to save the clinical intervention and return to the Clinical Intervention Recording window.

17. Alternatively, click the Cancel button to return to the Clinical Intervention Recording window without saving.

18. When you have finished editing the clinical intervention and have saved your changes, click the OK button to close the Clinical Intervention Recording screen. Alternatively, click the Cancel button to abandon your changes.

19. After you save the clinical intervention, a summary of the clinical intervention is displayed in the Summary table at the bottom of the Clinical Intervention Recording window. This table displays all of the selected customer’s clinical intervention records for the selected drug.
