You can disable an eScript so that it cannot be dispensed at any pharmacy. This functionality may be required where there are concerns regarding patient safety, fraud or excessive supply of high-risk medication that need to be clarified before the script can be dispensed. Once these issues have been clarified the script can be re-enabled and dispensed.
Disabled scripts:
- can only be re-enabled by the pharmacy that originally disabled the script
- are not uploaded to myHR or ASL
- are not transmitted to PBS
- are not sent to the Till
- cannot be edited
- cannot be scan checked
- are not sent to other third-party systems (e.g. DD Book)
- display in orange with a D icon throughout Minfos Dispense
Disable an eScript
- Follow your normal eScript dispensing process.
- When you are ready to save and process the eScript press [Enter] or click OK.
The Dispense Save and Process this Script? window is displayed.
- Enter your Pharmacist Password.
- Add an annotation to the script if required
- Check Disable script.
The Issue Repeat Token dropdown is disabled, as no correspondence to the patient is required.
- Click OK.
A Warning prompt is displayed.
- Click Yes to disable the eScript.
The Script Options window is displayed.
The eScript is disabled and cannot be dispensed by any pharmacy until/unless it is re-enabled.
Re-enable an eScript
Note A disabled script can only be re-enabled by the pharmacy that originally disabled the script.
- Select the script:
- From the history displayed on the Dispense form:
- Click on the script.
- Then click Special.
- From the Script Enquirywindow:
- Double click on the script.
- From the history displayed on the Dispense form:
The Script Options window is displayed.
- Select D. Re-enable Script.
The Re-enable Script window is displayed.
- Enter your Pharmacist Password and click OK.
The script is re-enabled. Once an eScript is re-enabled, the disabled eScript record will be removed from the patient’s history and the eScript can be dispensed following your usual dispensing process.
