Consumer Medicine Information (CMI) and other drug information is available in Minfos via GuildLink distribution services and the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA).
CMI and drug information can be accessed both during and after dispensing.
Access drug information during dispensing
To access a CMI during dispensing (before finalising the script):
- With the drug selected on the Dispense Form, click Drug Info f8 or press [F8].
The Drug Information Database window is displayed.
Refer to the image and table for an explanation of the actions that can be performed from this window.

6 | View TGA website | Launch the TGA website to view the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG) listing for the item. The Summary, CMI and PI can be accessed from this page. |
7 | View TGA CMI | View the CMI supplied by the TGA. |
8 | Print TGA CMI | Print the CMI supplied by the TGA. Note: This option is not available if the station does not have Adobe Reader installed and set as the default PDF reader. In this case, select View TGA CMI and manually print the CMI. |
9 | Email TGA CMI | Email the link to the CMI supplied by the TGA. The TGA email is sent from Minfos. The Send TGA CMI Email prompt is prepopulated with the email address saved in the customer profile. This can be edited if required. Note Where the option displays No, this means that option is not available to be performed. Another option should be selected.In the example above the CMI supplied through Guildlink Distribution Services is not available to be viewed, printed or emailed. However, the CMI and other drug information is available from the TGA. The dispenser can select these options to provide the information to the patient.
- Select the required action.
- To return to the Dispense Form click Cancel or press [Esc].
Access drug information after dispensing
To access a CMI from the Script Options menu:
- From the Script Options menu, click N. View CMI and click Okay.
The Display CMIs window is displayed.
- Select the action you wish to perform.
a. Click View CMI to view the available CMI.
i. The CMI is displayed.
ii. If required, the CMI can be printed from this window.
b. Click Email CMI to email the CMI to the customer.
i. The Send CMI Email window is displayed.
ii. If available, the email address is prepopulated from the customer’s profile. Enter/edit the email address if required.
iii. Click OK.
Note This option is not available if email has not been configured in your Minfos. Refer to Email Configuration.
c. Click Print CMI to print the available CMI.
When accessing the CMI from the Script Options menu, Minfos will first attempt to display/email/print the CMI available from Guildlink. Where the CMI is not available from Guildlink, Minfos will automatically display/email/print the TGA CMI. If there is no CMI found for the product from either Guildlink or the TGA, the View, Print and Email CMI buttons will be unavailable.
